About Cassina

Cassina is an Italian company that has helped to write the history of interior design and decor. Founded in 1927 by Cesare and Umberto Cassina, in the town of Meda, it is now globally recognised because of its attention to details and thanks to its capability to combine tradition and modernity.

At the beginning, the production was centred on wooden tables. Still, later on, during its period of almost one hundred years, Cassina has worked together with great signatures, such as Gio Ponti and Le Corbusier.

In the Fifties, the company became the first in Italy to introduce industrial design, with a groundbreaking change from the past: the artisanal production started being processed into a serial one. High quality materials and the continuous research of Cassina were well known, and this is confirmed by the fact that the company had the opportunity to realize the interior of the Italian transatlantic Andrea Doria.

The following decades were central in the development of design, in Italy as well as in the rest of the world, and Cassina has always managed to maintain its leadership in the industry. Today, this company can be considered one of the main players on the market, trying day by day to improve itself and to enhance our homes.
